How to start new meeting?
Click on the
"Start Meeting" button and fill in the mandatory Title and
Pass in the popup window. A unique 4-digit meeting ID is already assigned. You will enter
the meeting immediately. Alternatively you can enter: www.freemeeting.com/do?join
in the browser to launch a new meeting.
How to invite participants?
When you
create a new meeting, the Meeting Title, Pass, Link and Meeting ID are copied to
your clipboard. Just paste them (Ctrl-V) into email or instant message and send
it to participants. You can do the same by clicking the leftmost Invite button on the meeting Toolbar.
How to join the meeting?
If you received a meeting invitation with a Link like: www.freemeeting.com/do?join=1234 (where 1234 is a meeting ID), just click it or copy / paste into your browser. Enter the Pass that you received in the invitation in the popup window.
Alternatively, you can join at www.freemeeting.com website. Type in the 4-digit ID, click on the "Join Meeting" button and enter the Pass.
How to type annotations?
Click on the spot that you want your annotation to appear, and start typing. You can fix typos by using the Backspace.
How to draw sketches and highlights?
Same as with a marker on a whiteboard, press and hold left mouse button and drag.
How to show photos and pictures to all participants?
Click on the image button on the ToolBar, then click on the spot where you want the top left corner of your picture to appear. Select the location of the file when the dialog box pops up. All meeting participants can draw and type over that picture, unless you make a meeting View-Only from the ToolBar.
How to share my desktop so everyone can see it?
Click on the Desktop Control button on the ToolBar and launch the Desktop Control program. In that program use Refresh button to find your meeting, press Select button to choose the area you want to share, then click on the Share button. In a few seconds that desktop area becomes visible to all meeting participants and they will hear you as well if your microphone is setup. Click on the Control On button to allow participants to work on your computer. The participant that clicks on the second button (with arrow) on his/her Toolbar will get the control. You can always take control back by simply moving the mouse and clicking on the Control Off button.
How to make a video call to the meeting or just one-to-one?
Click on the Video Call button on the ToolBar. If you have a webcam set up, a small dialog box will pop up, asking for your permission to use camera and microphone. After your confirmation, the meeting whiteboard becomes transparent and all participants can see and hear you. The video may be hidden behind many pictures on the whiteboard.
When the other participant launches his/her webcam, they will be displayed side by side on the whiteboard. Up to two cameras are supported at one time. If your meeting has only two participants with cameras - that is just a regular one-to-one video call !
What are the rules for playing cards?
There are no rules. You decide which card game to play, and Freemeeting.com just ensures that the game is fair, and players can't peek at hidden cards.
How to clear all this?
Use the eraser from the ToolBar. Alternatively, you can jump to the next page using buttons on the ToolBar. Previous page will persist, you can move between upto 10 pages back and forth.
Where is the meeting Toolbar?
Look in the top left corner of a meeting window, there is a pull-down handle. The Toolbar will slide up if not used.
Is anything else available in a meeting?
Yes! You can send files to all participants. Make screenshots of your desktop and show them like pictures. Run meeting in lecture view-only mode. Save meeting content on the server, page by page. Load previously saved content from the server. Create links from elements of meeting content to saved files or to Internet websites. You can save and publish all the content in the Internet.
